A megatrend has an impact on the evolution of multiple trends of worldwide importance. Technology megatrends are intertwined with economic, ecological, and social megatrends and, because megatrends may evolve over a 20-year or longer timeframe, the report describes an ensemble of technologies within each of the three megatrends.
