Call for Participation and Student Travel Grants for
42nd IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS)
Houston, USA (in-person participation)
December 5th to 8th, 2022
We invite you to participate in the 2022 IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS), the premier conference on real-time systems to be held in Houston for in-person participation and around the globe for online participation.
Early Registration (with discounted rate) Deadline: November 18th, 2022
Prof. Kang G. Shin has been named the recipient of the 2022 IEEE Computer Society Technical & Conference Activities Board’s Distinguished Leadership Award.
“Dr. Shin is being recognized for his leadership in propelling real-time systems research to become a vigorous scientific discipline and for laying a firm foundation for the engineering of real-time applications that have become an important part of modern societies.”
Please join us in congratulating Prof. Shin on this well-deserved recognition of his many contributions to our research community.
Dear Real-Time Systems Community,
The IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS) is the flagship conference on real-time systems. After a few turbulent years, we are looking forward to returning to a more standard schedule and are soliciting proposals for hosting RTSS 2024.
Resuming to our regular rotation, with RTSS 2022 to be held in North America and RTSS 2023 in Asia, RTSS 2024 is slated to be held in Europe. Preference will be given to locations in Europe; however, if we receive an insufficient number of nominations from Europe, other regions will be considered as well.
At this point, we are looking for informal proposals (an email suffices) that indicate the proposed location and the local organizer team. A budget is not required at this point, but information concerning potential meeting spaces, hotels, travel connections, tourist attractions, etc., would be useful.
The TCRTS Executive Committee will review all submitted proposals, and will invite a set of proposing teams to submit a budget-planning spreadsheet and a pitch deck once we have final numbers from RTSS 2022, the first hybrid RTSS, to base the financial planning on. Those submitting the selected proposals will be expected to attend a virtual meeting of the TCRTS Executive Committee and make a short presentation concerning the location they are nominating. The winning proposal will then be selected by a vote of the TCRTS Executive Committee.
Proposals should be submitted to me at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 18, 2022. Please consider volunteering to host RTSS 2024!
Thanks and best regards,
Chair, IEEE Technical Community on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS)
TCRTS maintains a TCRTS Industry Contacts List with community members working in the industry in real-time systems-related topics that are available/interested in collaborating in our industry-oriented initiatives. These may include occasional surveys (not more than 1 or 2 a year), invitations to participate in program committees of conferences and workshops, and panels in such events.
For Colleagues from Industry:
If you are interested, please fill in the form that you can find here (https://cutt.ly/6coZL1O). Note that filling out the form represents no commitment. You will always be able to accept or reject any invitation that may come at a later time, or ask to be removed from our contact list.
For Colleagues from Academia:
You are welcomed to contact TCRTS (by sending an email to email@example.com) for reaching out to industry contacts for activities, including but not limited to:
- Answering surveys/questionnaires on industrial practice in real-time systems
- Serving on Technical Program Committees of conferences and workshops
- Participating in panel discussions at conferences
- Giving presentations/keynotes at conferences
- Attending conferences and workshops
- Collaborating with researchers and publishing papers
- Discussing problems and potential solutions with researchers
TCRTS will forward your messages/calls/information to the interested industry contacts.
